The Hopewell Rocks and a Last Minute Stop Over

After leaving the Bay of Fundy we drove east to the Hopewell Rocks. Located on the shores of the Bay of Fundy these tidal eroded rocks are a marine wonder. The tidal fluctuations allow you to walk on the sea floor itself. So cool! It was hard to believe that the weird shape of the rocks in front of us were formed over thousands of years of tidal action.

For the second time this trip the Cyre Family had to rely on the kindness of our followers. A misstep on the part of our master navigator (aka Mom) had us driving from Fundy National Park to the northeastern peak of Cape Breton in one day. That was not going to happen. At least not with smiles on our faces. Lucky for us, a kind and welcoming family had offered us a place to stay close to Antigonish. It was the perfect halfway point for our long journey to Cape Breton. Our hosts Jeanine and Bill were wonderful and treated us to dinner and a breakfast complete with "Ninja Coffee". We loved hearing about all of their travelling experiences as Canadian ambassadors in South Africa and India. Our lives were definitely enriched by their kindness, advice and encouraging words.

Thank you so much, we left your wonderful farmhouse well rested, well fed and full of caffeine. We were able to fully enjoy the next leg of our journey on the Cabot Trail.
